Internet Mapping Server

Welcome to the Plant Science Research and Education Unit's Internet Mapping Server. Through this system, you can view, create, and print maps in addition to searching, performing queries, and viewing valuable field block, irrigation, crop and soils data. Our field crop data changes daily, and the data found on this site is updated monthly. So, due to the dynamic nature of this data, the information found on this site is not necessarily current.

Project Goal

The goal of this project is to combine valuable Plant Science information in an easy to use, visual format for Project leaders, Faculty and Staff to access via the internet. Please remember though, that any information received from the Plant Science Internet Mapping Server is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

Getting Started

To get started with your research, enter the Plant Science IMS Web site. This will present you with the search and viewing options currently available on our system.  Use the cursor tools in the left toolbar to zoom in, zoom out, or pan until you have located the area you are interested in.

How to Use the IMS Web Sites

These instructions are designed for those of you who are unfamiliar with the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) environment. If you've had experience navigating through GIS programs such as ArcView, ArcExplorer, Imagine, MapInfo or Idrisi, I suspect you should have few problems understanding the IMS Web site. You might consider it helpful to print out the following Adobe Reader pdf document so you're able to work directly with the IMS Web site.

Printing

When printing the (8.5" x 11") images from Internet Explorer, go to File and click on Page Setup to set the Margins to 0.5" and Orientation to Landscape.
